There is some excellent surfing, with some well-established resorts such as Ha'atafu Beach Resort and 'Otuhaka Beach Resort, both on the main island of Tongatapu.

What interesting places are there to visit on Tongatapu?
Visit the spectacular blowholes on the southwest coast near Houma, only 15 kilometres from the capital of Nuku'alofa. There's also a Wildlife Center - Veirongo Bird Park - a bit closer to the capital on the south coast road.
